What is Stress Management?
Stress is
defined as an individual's "psychological, physiological, and behavioural
response when they perceive a lack of equilibrium between the demands placed on
them and their ability to meet those expectations, which leads to ill-health
over time."
Meditation,
yoga, and exercise are all popular ways to relieve stress. We'll go through
each one in depth, taking a variety of ways to ensure that there's something
for everyone.
First and foremost, let's be clear: we're not
striving to be stress-free all of the time. That's a stretch. After all, it's a
natural human
reaction that we all have from time to time—and it's not always negative.
However, we may all benefit from
recognising and managing our stress. Let's start with a little primer on stress
before we get into how to manage it.
Stress signs and symptoms :
Although we all react to stress in
different ways, the following are some of the more frequent symptoms:
• Sleeping problems
• Gaining or losing weight
• Constipation
• Irritability
• Grinding of the teeth
• Anxiety attacks
• Headaches
• Inability to concentrate
• Perspiring hands or feet
• Heartburn
• Sleep deprivation
• Social exclusion
• Fatigue
• Nausea
• Feeling overburdened
• as well as compulsive or obsessive
habits
Repetitive exposure of the stress
response on our body is proven to lead to long-lasting psychological and
physical health issues; these include cardiovascular disease, diabetes, anxiety
and depression
